This is a pilot workshop—the first in what we imagine to be a bigger series beginning Summer 2026. Join us from 2-4 pm at the Story Mill Park Bird Feeding Station to help us begin to understand what this workshop may become, all the while enjoying the fruits of what we know this workshop is—a time to be in community, ground in your body, connect to the land, write, and share and/or listen. Turtle Island The joy I feel zooming up & down windy hilly narrow paths lined by tall slender trees sheltering me from the wind is a deep deep joy; I love to hold with you. The sweet, layered deliciousness; tenderness of cauliflower from your soil and deers who graze your grasses is an honorable depiction of how generous & loving you are. Your persistence is palpable as we fly planes through the sky burning holes in the atmosphere; as we pour tar down and concrete on your precious body blocking off your airways. And yet you persist. And yet you try to take care of us. This is unreal. And for that I’m sorry. Your guidance is always so clear to me so long as I open my eyes, heart and mind to your offerings. I appreciate this steadiness you’ve always offered me. I miss visiting you more regularly, feeling how simple your love is; persistent & guiding; shared with those that need you, regardless of whether they really see you. I love you. I will forever love you. If I get lost I will come back to you. Thank you for holding me. Thank you for witnessing me.
